Terms and Conditions

Terms and conditions (for approved trade customers please refer to the general Trade Terms and Conditions)
The following terms and conditions apply to all transactions on casstrom.co.uk and with Casstrom Limited (hereafter, known as the “we” or “the company”). Placing an order (by any method) indicates your acceptance of these terms and conditions. Please read them carefully and print a copy for future reference.

The contract between us
By placing an order, you are making an offer which the company can either accept or decline. We must receive payment of the whole of the price for the goods that you order, unless agreed otherwise, before your order can be accepted. Once payment has been received by us we will confirm if your order has been accepted by sending an email to you at the email address you provide in your order form (please notify us if you do not receive an email within 24 hours). Our acceptance of your order brings into existence a legally binding contract between us. The agreement is governed by English law.

Making a Purchase
We accept most major credit and debit cards as well as PayPal transfers (Please note we may decline PayPal for some transactions due to the nature of the product, or your locality).  
We will accept UK cheques ONLY upon prior agreement. Please note that cheques should be made payable to Casstrom Limited and sent to:

Credit Card Security
All payments are secure, going via Shopify or PayPal secure services and we do not see or keep your card details. This provides the secure link between our website and your bank to ensure that our customers' card details are kept secure.

Currencies Accepted 
We accept payments in GBP only.  

Stock availability
We endeavor to always keep the stock on the website accurate, however please note that technical issues or human errors can occur.
If an item is shows as out of stock on our website it can still be ordered and we will contact you to let you know the estimated delivery timescales.

Shipping and Handling

We will deliver the goods ordered by you to the address you give us for delivery at the time you make your order, this cannot be changed at a later date.  Delivery will be made as soon as possible after your order is accepted and in any event within 30 days of your order.  You will become the owner of the goods you have ordered when they have been delivered to you.  Once goods have been delivered to you they will be held at your own risk and we will not be liable for their loss or destruction.

If you would like your items delivered to a different address to your billing address, this is subject to checks and we will contact you to verify the information.

Refused deliveries are subject to a returns fee.  If a re-delivery request is made you will be re-charged the initial shipping fee, plus the return fee and any further costs incurred by the company.

We will send items by either courier or a Royal Mail service. Please note that some extra heavy, large or strange shaped items may have a surcharge added to them.  Postage to remote areas of the British Isles may cost more, in which case we will contact you for further payment. Please also note that postal fees may differ if you place your order via telephone.

We endeavor to deliver stock items within 3-5 working days of an order being accepted. Out of stock items will take longer at this time. Please note that out of stock items may show as in stock on the site.

Liability

 1.     If the goods we deliver are not what you ordered, are damaged or defective, or the delivery is of an incorrect quantity, we shall have no liability to you unless you notify us in writing of the problem within 10 working days of the delivery of the goods in question by emailing us at service@casstrom.co.uk, or writing to us at Casstrom Limited, Crayke House, Birch Way Easingwold, YO61 3FB

2.     If you do not receive despatched goods ordered within 30 days of the date on which you ordered them, we shall have no liability to you unless you notify us in writing of the problem within 40 days of the date on which you ordered the goods by emailing us at service@casstrom.co.uk, or writing to us at Casstrom Limited, Crayke House, Birch Way Easingwold, YO61 3FB


3.     If you notify a problem to us under either of the above circumstances, our sole and exclusive obligation will be:  to make good any shortage or non-delivery; or to replace or repair any goods that are damaged or defective; or to refund to you the amount paid by you for the goods (minus postage costs) in question in whatever way we choose.

4.     Except as precluded by law, we will not be liable to you for any indirect or consequential loss, damage or expenses (including loss of profits, business or goodwill) howsoever arising out of, under, or in connection with the contract between us and we shall have no liability to pay any money to you by way of compensation other than to refund to you the amount paid by you for the goods in question under the conditions set out in paragraph 3 above.

5     You must observe and comply with all applicable regulations and legislation, including obtaining all necessary customs, import or other permits to purchase goods from our site. The importation or exportation of certain of our goods to you may be prohibited by certain national laws. We make no representation and accept no liability in respect of the export or import of the goods you purchase.

6     Notwithstanding the foregoing, nothing in these Conditions is intended to limit any rights you might have as a consumer under applicable local law or other statutory rights that may not be excluded, nor in any way to exclude or limit our liability to you for any death or personal injury resulting from our negligence.

Customer cancellations
You may cancel your contract with us for the goods you order at any time within 14 days from the date you receive the ordered goods. To cancel your contract you must notify us by emailing us at service@casstrom.co.uk, or writing to us at Casstrom Limited, Crayke House, Birch Way Easingwold, YO61 3FB


If you have received the goods before you cancel your contract then you must send the goods back to our returns address only (Casstrom Limited, Crayke House, Birch Way Easingwold, YO61 3FB) at your own cost and risk as soon as possible and together with all relative labels and packaging. Please also enclose a copy of your invoice or order confirmation. We suggest using a trackable service as lost goods cannot be reimbursed.  If you cancel your contract but we have already despatched your goods, once received please return the goods in the original packaging, preferably without opening the parcel. Once you have notified us that you are cancelling your contract, any sum debited to us from your credit card will be re-credited to your account (minus fees) as soon as possible provided that the goods in question are returned by you and received by us in the condition they were in when delivered to you. If you do not return the goods delivered to you or you do not pay the costs of delivery, we shall be entitled to deduct the direct costs of recovering the goods from the amount to be re-credited to you.

Cancellation by the company
We reserve the right to cancel the contract between us if we have insufficient stock to deliver the goods you have ordered; we do not deliver to your area or country; or one or more of the goods you ordered was listed at an incorrect price due to a typographical error or an error in the pricing information received by us from our suppliers. If we do cancel your contract we will notify you by email and will re-credit your account any sum deducted by us from your credit card as soon as possible. We will not be obliged to offer an additional compensation for disappointment suffered.

Privacy policy and proof of age
It is our policy to respect the privacy of private communication. We will collect personal data only as provided to us during the ordering process, which you agree to supply to us as accurate (see below for restricted goods). Please remember, all payments are secure, going via Shopify or PayPal so we do not see your card details or store these in any way. The company will not disclose buyers' information to third parties.

If an order is placed for a restricted item (knives and other edged tools) we will need to validate name, address and other personal information supplied by you during the ordering process against appropriate third party databases. By accepting these terms and conditions you consent to such checks being made. In performing these checks personal information provided by you may be disclosed to a registered Credit Reference Agency which may keep a record of that information. You can rest assured that this is done only to confirm your identity and age, that a credit check is not performed and that your credit rating will be unaffected. All information provided by you will be treated securely and strictly in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. If we require further details to validate your date of birth we will send an e-mail requesting a copy of your ID. By placing an order you agree to provide additional information should we require it. Payment is taken at the time of checkout,  however if you decide not to provide extra information after accepting these terms your card will be refunded minus any fees to cover age verification checks made. Any non-age restricted goods will still be sent and a credit for the age restricted items will be made to your card.

Events beyond our control
We shall have no liability to you for any failure to deliver goods you have ordered or any delay in doing so or for any damage or defect to goods delivered that is caused by an event or circumstance beyond our reasonable control including, without limitation, postal strikes, lock-outs and other industrial disputes, breakdown of systems or natural emergencies, pandemics, war, or other such disasters.

Knives and sharp tools
We do not supply knives or edged tools to persons under 18 years of age. By placing an order for knives/tools with us you declare that you are 18 years of age or over.  We will need to validate name, address and other personal information supplied by you during the order process against appropriate third party databases. By accepting these terms and conditions you consent to such checks being made as earlier in these terms. Please also note that all sharp objects must be used responsibly and should never be used as weapons.  It is your responsibility to find out what the law says about the use of knives and to follow it.
